Please note that confirmation of SATB2-associated syndrome diagnosis is needed to ensure that our conference is supporting our SAS community. If you have not already done so, please submit a copy of your diagnosis via email to YAZarate@uams.edu and KBBosanko@uams.edu.
Registration Fees
- SAS Attendee – Free
- Adult – $90 each
- Children (age 3 – 18) – $50 each
- Age 2 and under – Free
- Virtual Access – $49 each
Registration includes a pass to all conference sessions, two breakfasts, two lunches, and a welcome bag. Registrations received after Monday, June 13, 2022, will have limited availability. As of July 1st in-person registration has closed.
Virtual Access and Livestreaming registration is now open and available via the Zoom Events Platform. Virtual registration includes the ability to view sessions live and access to the recorded sessions until August 31st – allowing you to go back and watch as often, or whenever, you like through the end of summer! Register now to reserve your spot! Registrations for virtual access must be secured by July 15, 2022 at 8pm EST in order to receive on-demand access.
Please note that on Monday, June 13, 2022, our room block with the Wyndham Resort Orlando International Drive will expire. Rooms booked after June 13th will not be given our preferred room rate and discounts.
Childcare and Sibling Support Workshop Registration closes on Monday, June 20th.
Childcare will be provided on-site by a professional childcare company during the two-afternoon sessions for a minimal fee of $15 per day per family. The afternoon sessions will cover important topics from our lead researchers and clinicians and will allow parents and caregivers to fully focus. We have hired Super Sitters, who have experience with special needs children, and are all CPR certified. Please indicate your interest in childcare for both your SAS family member and siblings on your registration form.

Sibling Support Session
New this year, we are pleased to offer a facilitated sibling support session! Emily Holl, Director of the Sibling Support Project, will host a SibShop session dedicated to siblings on Thursday, July 14th, from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm. SibShops are a lively, action-packed, three-hour workshop that provides support and guidance to typically developing siblings of children with special needs. This SibShop will be a time to celebrate the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of children with special needs and connect with others to share their unique experiences through discussion and activities. Please indicate your interest on the registration form.
COVID-19 Protocol
The health and safety of all attendees at the 2022 SATB2-Associated Syndrome Family Conference remains our number one priority. We will continue to monitor the venue’s COVID policies, government mandates and policies, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and public health advancements. As information about the virus continues to develop, we will adjust our approach as needed and keep you up to date with new developments to ensure a coordinated and safe environment for our conference attendees.
We will continue to follow federal, state, and local city regulations for any further changes and make updates to this policy when additional information becomes available. These items are subject to change at any time.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. Participation in conference events and activities carries some risk, and by attending, Attendees assume responsibility for their own well-being. All Attendees must follow posted instructions while participating in SATB2 Gene Foundation Conference events and activities. Failure to follow all protocols in effect and required by the SATB2 Gene Foundation, the venue providers, and governing authorities during the Conference may result in registration cancellation without refund. Photo and Video Release
The SATB2 Gene Foundation (SGF) will be photographing and video recording parts of the conference. The SGF reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by SGF, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed subject, parent, or legal guardian. Important Information about the hotel: We have a block of rooms available for our group. Our room block rate includes preferred building placement on the property and the resort fee waived. Please note that these buildings are all two-story buildings, and elevators are not equipped in the guest room buildings. When reserving, please note if you need a ground floor unit, and the hotel will accommodate requests as they can. If you need a handicap accessible room, please select that room type (scroll to the bottom of the booking screen).
2 Double Beds: $139 per night (plus taxes and fees)
1 King Bed: $139 per night (plus taxes and fees)
Family Suite (1 King Bed with bunkbed): $179 per night (plus taxes and fees)
Family Suite (2 Double Beds with bunkbed): $179 night (plus taxes and fees)
Rooms must be reserved by June 13, 2022, or sooner to guarantee the preferred room rates and accommodations.
Childcare/Sibling Support Registration
To complete your registration for childcare services (Thursday and Friday afternoon) and/or for the Sibling Support Workshop on Thursday afternoon. Childcare will be provided from 1:00 pm – 5:00pm both days for $15 per family, per day, regardless of the number of children you enroll. This will allow our attendees to fully focus on the scientific and medical presentations during these sessions. This form can also be used to register sibling(s) for Thursday afternoon’s sibling support workshop. The minimum age for participating children in this workshop is age 6. There is no additional charge for this program. Please complete these registrations by June 13th. If you have a financial hardship for childcare, please reach out to us at conference@satb2gene.org to discuss further. Please reserve your childcare and Sibling Support workshop spots by Monday, June 20th.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your conference registration and do so by June 1, we are able to offer you a full refund, minus process fees, for your conference registration. If you need to cancel your conference registration on June 2 or later, we are not able to offer you a registration refund.
COVID-19 Cancellation Policy
If you have a late cancellation due to COVID-19, please send a written request and proof of positive test to conference@satb2gene.org. Registration refunds will be issued within two (2) weeks after the conclusion of the Family Conference minus credit card processing fees. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our attendees safe by staying home if sick. All hotel room reservations must be handled with the hotel directly.
